AP LANG complexity hacks


<a target="_blank" href="The number one priority: SCRUTINIZE THE RUBRICI have some strategies for my fellow AP warriors as someone who suffered from lang exam, and I will be sharing some of my thoughts on earning the complexity point in 3 essays (I got a 5 btw so it might give me some credit to share).For Synthesis & Argument:[Qualification] The easiest way to get the complexity point is to make qualified claim. So basically you don’t just say oh A is nice while it’s has some downsides but still through… it’s still nice; instead, this is the claim that you should make: A is valid, however, in some circumstances (be detailed) the downsides might eclipse its value. Thus… draw a qualified claim based on the prompt.For Rhetorical Analysis:[Link to historical background] The most cost effective way to earn complexity is to link the literal piece to the then historical background and weave it into analyzing the speaker’s rhetorical choices. Like you put the speaker and his words into a larger context while trying to answer the question: “how does the then historical background affect the speaker and his speech”.[Explore the speaker & audience relationship] The other way I recommend is to dig deeper into the potential audience. What I mean is that you should not just say “”by using… this makes the [audience]…. You should give more details on the audience’s background, including educational background, leveraging relationships with the speaker, political stance. This will help you understand the piece while making your analysis more detailed and thorough!Hope this helped!!
