Hi everyone, I’d like to get some HR or finance industry advice regarding my situation.Over the past two months, I completed my SC Module 6 and 7 exams and went through the licensing and registration process under a company that offered me a role. My onboarding date was scheduled for 3/11/2025.However, yesterday I informed the boss that I had decided to withdraw from joining the company because I recently found out that the company’s trading account had been hacked. After I told them my decision, they asked me to prepare and submit a resignation letter, even though I have not started work yet and haven’t signed the offer letter. Now, the company is asking me to pay the SC licensing and registration fees.I’d like to ask:Does the company have the right to request payment from me, considering I never officially started working and didn’t sign any offer letter?Am I legally required to pay for the licensing or registration fees in this situation?Would really appreciate any advice from HR or finance professionals familiar with Malaysia’s employment or SC licensing rules. Thanks in advance!
