Hey Miata people! I picked up a 2021 RF about a year ago, but I'm just getting to the airbag recall now. My car is currently at Mazda, but they were unable to flash the airbag module due to a U0156 code. They initially said this had something to do with the front camera, but when I googled the code it looked more like a general code for "ECU can't talk to infotainment." My car had the aftermarket parts cannon fired at it before I bought it, including at least:- MX5things RF roof controller- MX5things window controller- MX5things ACC/IG power controller, 2016-2023- MX5things 3rd brake light flasher (RF)- smoked corner lights- sequential smoked LED sidemarkers- trunk poppers- hood strutsThe previous owner also did *something* to allow touchscreen use while driving - not sure if they just accessed the tech-only menu and enabled that or if they installed something like AIO Mazda Tweaks, but they definitely messed with the infotainment software somehow. After I bought the car, I installed a Flyin' Miata midpipe and Hush-O-Matic muffler with their CAN integration kit.Obviously some of the stuff on this list doesn't even touch the electrical system, but I figured I'd list everything I'm aware of that's not stock on the car.I'm wondering if any of this stuff has been known to cause issues doing the software update for the airbag recall. The tech will be calling their Techline service tomorrow, and I assume the answer they get will be "tell the customer to unplug all this aftermarket crap" since they'd rather not spend time diagnosing a problem if there's any chance it could be caused by an aftermarket module.Has anybody else run into this problem?
