1st the introduction.My relationship with Overwatch was a bumpy road, at first it was Tf2. Then i got to play Overwatch for the first time at a Con in 2017, one year later i finally convinced my dad that purchasing video games wont get your bank account hacked, he still got it as a DVD (which i really appreciate cuz it was the Legendary edition). And thus, i started playing Overwatch day and night for the entirety of that year, it was at its best condition, no tryhards on qp, most characters were balanced, it was great. In 2019 i slowed down a bit cuz i had absolutely no one to play it with, and i wasnt good at English back then so that didnt help.In 2020 i met a group online who played Overwatch day and night, not only did i make great friends that i still talk to this day and plan to meet irl, but i also improved my English, which allowed me to make many more friends and play the game consistently for 2 more years. Around 2023-2024 i slowed down again due to my irl social life getting more active and now im back in 2025 thanks to the latest update.2nd the PraiseI. Absolutely. LOVE THE PERK SYSTEM! Its such a beatiful addition to the game, it feels even better than the Apex version of the system, because instead of slight buffs these perks outright change your characters playstyle. But in a balanced way?!?At first i was skeptical, scared that annoying heroes were gonne get even more annoying, but no. I actually have zero complaints about any perk of any character. The lootboxes coming back is also very appreciated, though its a double edged sword and i'll talk about that in a bit.Overall, the game seems more rewarding now, the perks are a fun addition that will prevent people from getting bored of their mains.3rd the RantNo matter how much the game's layout improves, they CANNOT balance it. Why are hitscans so op? Why has this game become completely aim reliant? Back when it was at its peak, you could still keep your ground against a god aimer with enough game sense and experience. Now all i see is the enemy team picking two snipers and just destroying the match 800 meters away from the objective. Dont even get me started on Sombra, but i think we can all agree that Soujourn is a huge problem, she has basically no recoil and her secondary fire gets charged from shields??? And Ä°llari...That thing is not a support.I think the problem is that some heroes have abilities/attacks that dont match their role. For example, the reason why Bastion works is because he is vulnerable, yes he can put out incredible damage in a short period of time but he has the biggest hitbox in DPS. But Mauga? He has a charge ability, he has a healing ability, he has like what? 700 health? And his primary attack literally does more damage than Bastions 8 second minigun mode. Mauga has abilities from all classes and thats why he is a problem. No matter how good i play i know that Mauga counters basically every tank except Jq and Zarya. Take Ana for example, she has good damage, healing and a stun, but she has 250hp and has no mobility, thats a balanced character, not Mauga.Soujourn is also not balanced, her entire kit is built on raw damage and mobility, i miss when Overwatch devs used to give characters passive abilities like 76s healing pack, Junkrats mine or Hanzos Scan arrow. Soujourn has one slide ability and the rest of her kit is just completely damage abilities.I feel like Overwatch has stopped making characters that require game sense, and just chose to make characters that only require aim. Like Genji for example, he is annoying as hell but he requires alot of game sense, knowing when to deflect and when to dash are things that only people who pay attention to the character will master. But Soujourn? Mauga? Ä°llari? Yea just forget your role, go get some headshots and make the DPS look completely useless, cuz thats how this game works right? I also dont like that they brought lootboxes back. As a veteran i feel scammed and neglected, why did i pay 20 pounds for this game if i couldve just got it for free and get the same experience? At least give me like an exclusive skin or free battle pass like damn.
