Hello Lock Pickers... I hope it's ok to ask on this forum as I am not a lock picker, but I am seeking advice how best secure a Tesio Security Door in an apartment building in Athens Greece in a "edgy, but up and coming neighborhood". There are break-ins, and the thieves tend to use a combination of lockpicking and acid/chemicals. They are generally looking to work fast and get out (quick wins of cash, jewelry, purses). There is nothing of high value in the apartment, and because it is not a fancy neighborhood, it doesn't attract sophisticated thieves... (not yet, anyway).I visited a high end locksmith in Athens (bid attached), but there was a bit of a language barrier, and I am not sure if he was showing me every option, or telling me I needed everything in his bid which included an €1100 electric lock, a Tedee locking system, and a Sorex Wifi unlock. The total cost of €4,200 (€700 + €3500) seems steep, but more importantly, I want to make sure I am spending funds on the "right" security measures. I will also have an alarm system as I will only be in Greece part time (in the US other half of year). The building has 3 apartments per floor, in VERY close proximity, and sound reverberates through the building. Any extended noise from someone trying to break down a door, or drill a lock would result in the neighbors coming out to investigate before the alarm company could even reach me. I know there is no impenetrable lock, but this is what I have been looking at / any advice appreciated: 1) The most common locks I see mentioned are Abloy Protec2, Assa Abloy Twin, and then the EVVA MCS and MEDECO M4 which both seem interesting. I also read an article which said in Germany folks were starting to install their locks "upside down" so the acid doesn't drop down to the pins.2) High security lock most resistant to acid. The local neighborhood locksmith snickered at the high end locksmiths bid, and said the thieves will pour acid down my $1,100 electric lock; he instead recommended a €150 euro DISEC - Magnetic Defender as the only thing that works in our particular neighborhood.3) High Security electronic Door Lock with fingerprint. Chatgpt thinks electronic door locks can't be hacked with acid... (???). A electronic lock with fingerprint that we can remote code for guests/cleaning lady would be great for our needs. I am open to installing 2 locks, for example using a high end security lock with fingerprint (and seeking recommendations for model/brand) and then the DISEC magnetic defender as additional security when we are not in Greece. Thanks for reading (and apologies for the long post)....it's been a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out how to best secure this door. Advice, shared experiences, and any warnings appreciated!______________High end locksmith bid and door photos below. Prior owner had a security push bar (?) along the door, attached to a power box which we are getting rid of. For our security system we are in the process of deciding between a wired system and GPRS.Wiring for Push Bar Lockhttps://preview.redd.it/h6c25k2daeie1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8eabe0a8f11c50431ff5a0bd139ba88885bd310Tesio DoorPush Bar / 3 small apartments per floor / so thieves have to be quiet.High End Locksmith's Bid/Recommendation
