I like both the original insert and the pipe insert. I wish there was a way for the lighter to be both windproof and pipe-friendly, but I'm afraid this would require changing the laws of physics.Another thing that would be great would be a butane insert that is at least somewhat windproof without being a torch lighter. Torch flames defy the elements but torch lighters still come with a myriad of issues. You have to worry about buying the right type of butane. I use a fairly modest "near zero impurities" butane for the one butane insert I own, a third-party cheapie. I definitely won't buy butane that costs three times as much as the lighter, and I'm not sure if 14x filtered is really necessary or just a marketing hype. Your little portable kitchen range can definitely clog up, I found out that it's not a good idea to use it to light herbs in a bong -- the fumes from the herbs clog up the valves, must be the resin or something. Also, even though I have only a single flame, it seems to be powerful enough to incinerate the herbs instead of smoldering them. I use the torch for lighting a tea warmer and, sometimes, charcoal for a censer, but apart from that, butane simply drives me nuts. What are your ideas?
